(ECNS) -- Many viruses disguised as "Dongguan sex video" links have been spreading online after China Central Television (CCTV) uncovered a rampant sex trade in massage parlors and hotels in Guangdong province's Dongguan, the Wuhan Morning News said.
A lab at Qihoo 360 Technology, an antivirus software company, said in the past 24 hours, their software has intercepted links to malicious porn sites with key words "Dongguan," 100,000 times more than usual. A large number of Trojan horse viruses and malware disguised as "Dongguan sex dance video" have been popping up online, it said.
Internet security experts said netizens should be wary of invitations to view the supposed sex tape or pictures, which could be harmful to the computer's hard drive or files.
Once they click, netizens may end up installing password-stealing Trojan horses, experts warned.
It is not the first time that computer viruses were disguised as rumored sex tapes and pictures, they said.
