(ECNS) -- Chinese customers are being warned against advertisements about a so-called exclusive cosmetic brand, IMAX for Park Geun-hye, president of the Republic of Korea (ROK), Xinhuanet.com reported on Tuesday, citing the ROK embassy in Beijing.

The manufacturer of IMAX cosmetics brand is calling its products "exclusive cosmetics chosen by Park Geun-hye", and claiming that all of its products are made in ROK.

An advertisement for the brand was posted by sellers of several Chinese online shopping stores.

The embassy issued a notice on Tuesday lodging a strong protest against the online shopping stores that posted the ad featuring an image of the president without obtaining prior permission to use her photos.

The embassy said the products are neither manufactured nor exported by Korea and demanded that the photo be removed. The embassy also said Park does not use the product.

As of Tuesday, the false advertisement was removed from part of the online shopping mall.
