(ECNS) -- At this year's two sessions, a real name system will be introduced for bottled water offered to National People's Congress (NPC) deputies and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the Beijing Times reported on Thursday.
Deputies and members will be given bottled water with their names on the bottles, and they won't get a second one until the first bottle is empty, according to a manager at Beijing International Hotel, a provider for NPC deputies and CPPCC members.
No special waiters will be offering refill services at the sessions.
At previous sessions, bottled water was offered in unlimited numbers to members and deputies. Many bottles were discarded with water still in them, as attendees couldn't tell which bottle was theirs.
During the 2013 two sessions, all attendees got water from drinking fountains using disposable paper cups, which also caused great waste. Countless used paper cups were dumped after the event, which attracted nearly 3,000 NPC deputies, over 2,000 CPPCC members and several journalists and working staffers.
