(ECNS) -- A company in Sichuan province dismissed an employee who was discovered to have watched American TV shows during work hours, the Chengdu Economic Daily reported.
The employee, surnamed Feng, was a manager of human resources and administration. Last June, an investigation found Feng used computers to do things unrelated to work during office hours, including watching American TV, shopping online and surfing online forums.
Feng, who disagreed with the dismissal, sued the company, demanding compensation of 38,000 yuan ($6,129).
A local court announced its decision on Wednesday confirming that Feng violated the company's regulations and the company need not pay her compensation.
