5 dead in SW China's bus fire

(ECNS) --A bus caught fire on Thursday afternoon with over 50 passengers on board in Southwest China's Guizhou province, local news portal gog.com.cn said.

A netizen posted on Twitter-like service Sina Weibo that around 12:50 pm seemingly spontaneous blazes swept through a No. 237 bus in front of a primary school on Jinyang South Street in Yunyan district, Guiyang city.

A witness said there were more than 50 passengers on board when the bus caught fire.

The fire has been extinguished, and five people were killed in the fire, local fire fighters told Xinhua.

Investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
