(ECNS) -- Families of passengers on the missing flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing are not satisfied with options given to them by Malaysia Airlines, the Beijing Times reported. [Special coverage: Searching for missing MH370]
Malaysia Airlines held a second news conference for families at Metro Park Lido Hotel in Beijing at 11:04 am Monday morning. Staffers offered three options for the families:
1) Malaysia Airlines takes missing passengers' families to the location of the missing plane if it is found in the first week after they arrive in Kuala Lumpur. Otherwise, they will be sent back to China.
2) Malaysia Airlines provides accommodation and meals for families waiting in Beijing for a week. If there is no further information, the families go back and wait at home.
3) Malaysia Airlines provides timely information to those who choose leave the hotel now and wait at home.
But many families didn't like any of the options and said they are not leaving until the missing plane is located.
Staffers from Malaysia Airlines said they will contact headquarters and give feedback around 2:00 pm. The latest information from several countries' search efforts will be released to families then, they added.
Families also opposed Malaysia Airlines giving only four lunch vouchers to each family, as many families have more than four members waiting at the hotel.
Malaysia Airlines apologized and promised to provide a large room with no restrictions.
As for the news that "two relatives have arrived in Malaysia," staffers said that they are Malaysian nationals and didn't need to apply for passports or visas.
