(ECNS) – China's National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center said on Sunday afternoon that water temperatures would be ranging from 26 to 28 degree Celsius at the suspected site of the missing Flight MH370 over the next 72 hours, according to the State Oceanic Administration's official website. The temperature is suitable for human beings to conserve energy and survive.
In the next 72 hours, easterly winds will dominate the area, with ocean waves at a height of 1 to 1.5 meters. And convective precipitation will occur due to a tropical cloud cluster.
Affected by a northeast monsoon, ocean currents at the site mainly flow west and southwest at 0.2 or 0.3 meters per second, which would send any survivors or life floats drifting in the water southwest.
