Beijing (ECNS) – Malaysian Airlines has promised that it will pay 31,000 yuan (US$5,059) to family members of each passenger aboard flight MH370 as "special consolation money" on Tuesday afternoon. [Special coverage: Searching for missing MH370]
The airlines made the promise at the help center it set up for friends and relatives of missing passengers in Beijing's Metropark Lido Hotel on Monday night.
No evidence with the missing plane had been found yet.
The flight MH370 carrying 239 people aboard, including 154 Chinese, lost contact with air controllers on last Saturday.
