Chinese ambassador: 'House of Cards' reveals shortcomings of US politics

(ECNS) -- The Chinese Ambassador to the United States said the popular American political drama "House of Cards" reveals certain characteristics and shortcomings of US politics, the People's Daily reported.

Ambassador Cui Tiankai made the remarks during a talk show on the relationship between China and US on the sidelines of the "two sessions."

It shows that the Americans are debating whether the democracy between two parties has become extreme, as well as why many things can't be done, and why top priority is given to the interests of the party, he said.

The television series is favored by Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Wang Qishan, according to media reports.
