(ECNS) -- A man in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, bought over 100 cars to get car plates amid fears of possible car plate restrictions in the city, people.cn reported on Friday.
The customer, surnamed Jin, bought 125 Chang'an minivans at a dealership near Shenban Road in the city.
A salesman at the store said the man bought the car to get license plates for sale.
"I heard that the man already had over 800 cars under his name, before he bought these cars in our store," the salesperson said.
The salesperson said the minivan is one of the best sellers at the store, because each one is sold at the low price of 27,000 yuan ($4,336).
It is the cheapest vehicle on the market that is eligible to apply for a license plate, the salesperson added.
