ECNS) -- Northeast China's Liaoning province has opened an anti-terror hotline, 96110, and promised to give rewards of up to 500,000 yuan ($80,170) for useful information, a local newspaper said.
The Liaoning provincial department of public security said citizens can call the 24-hour hotline with any information about organizing, planning, or implementing terror attacks, or about any suspicious persons, objects or vehicles.
All information passed to the police will be confidential, as special staffers will operate the hotline. The department will not name the caller during the investigation and giving out rewards.
Vital clues that can help the police bust terrorist groups will be rewarded 1,000 yuan ($160) to 500,000 yuan.
The Ministry of Public Security announced Sunday that police across the country will start a year-long anti-terror operation and pool their information for early identification of terrorist groups and their members.
