(ECNS) -- A huge python was found uncoiling in bed at a residence in South China's Guangdong province over the Dragon Boat Festival.

Wang Haibo, a resident of Dongguan and a retired military officer, told Yangcheng Evening News on Sunday that his aunt found a 2.5-meter-long python crawling under a blanket on the second floor of her house.

Hearing her scream, Wang rushed to the bedroom upstairs and caught the huge snake with his hands. When pressed hard on the head, the snake coiled tightly around Wang's arm.

After putting the snake into a cloth bag, Wang weighed it, and the snake turned out to be 12.5 kilograms.

"The huge python managed to creep into the house, possibly through the sewer pipes," Wang said.
