(ECNS) – An 11-year-old girl of Chinese descent has won the national 2014 Doodle 4 Google contest with a drawing titled "Back to Mother Nature" that was displayed Monday on Google's homepage, according to people.com.cn.

Held annually, Doodle 4 Google encourages children to create logos with a specific theme. This year it was "If I could invent one thing to make the world a better place."

Fifth-grader Audrey Zhang from New York drew a "transformative water purifier" that won her the championship out of more 100,000 drawings.

"It takes in dirty and polluted water from rivers, lakes, and even oceans, then massively transforms the water into clean, safe and sanitary water," Zhang said at the award ceremony.

Zhang has also won a $30,000 college scholarship, and Google will donate $20,000 in her name for a charity to bring water purifiers to schools in Bangladesh.
