Shanghai (CNS) -- Forbes China has released China's Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs List for the first time, where Huawei's Chairwoman Sun Yafang was at the top.
"We've seen a lot of female entrepreneurs emerge out of China," Forbes China said, adding that it was a combination of company size, number of staff, their leadership and actual influence that landed these 100 ladies on the list.
Sun Yafang, chairwoman of Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider, is at the top of the list, followed by Dong Mingzhu, CEO of Gree Electric Appliances, and Song Guangju, chairwoman of Poly Real Estate Group.
Seventy percent of the women were born in the 1960s or 1950s, while the younger ones, most of whom received educations abroad, are mainly second-generation entrepreneurs, like Yang Huiyan of Country Garden Holdings and Zong Fuli of Wahaha Group.
Kang Jian, executive chief editor of Forbes China, said China's economy features these female entrepreneurs, and more women will climb to the top of the business world.
Sun ranked 91 on the list of Forbes'The World's 100 Most Powerful Women in 2012.
