(ECNS) – A man has set two "Chinness" Chinese Records by carving 7,665 circular holes and 2,865 triangular holes on two eggs, respectively, Xi'an Evening News reported.
Li Shidong, a folk artist in Yulin, Shaanxi province, spent 47 days carving 7,665 circular holes with homemade tools on a 5.65 centimeter-long egg. The other record, 2,865 triangular holes on an egg 5.81 cm in length, took him over a month.
Lin said he hoped more young people will learn the craft of egg carving and pass on the traditional art.
Chinness Chinese Records is China's own version of Guinness, which was officially approved by China's State Administration of Industry and Commerce in 2010. The word "Chinness" is a combination of "Chinese" and "Guinness".
