United Nations (ECNS) – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is coming to China for the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Nanjing, and will meet with President Xi Jinping during his visit from August 14 to 17.
Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said on Tuesday that Ban will attend the opening ceremony of the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, Jiangsu province on August 16. Meanwhile, he'll meet with President Xi and Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee.
Also on his agenda is an open dialogue with China's young people on issues such as development. He will join an online chat on social media to explore the potential of youth, the power of sports, and the importance of climate change.
