(ECNS) – The European Union's diplomatic corps to China said Wednesday they had no comment on China's current anti-monopoly investigations, but were paying close attention to it, the 21st Century Business Herald reported.

The corps also said since the EU and China is cooperating in anti-monopoly, the investigations should be transparent and treat foreign-owned companies as equal to domestic ones.

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) announced on Wednesday that the course of the country's investigation might be not transparent enough and foreign enterprises might be treated unequally.

The chamber said companies in different industries have reported that they were fined by Chinese authorities without a full hearing.

Foreign companies and the foreign parties of joint venture enterprises were targeted in some industries as China's domestic companies didn't fall under the same investigations, it added.
