(ECNS) – A knife-wielding man killed four children in Pingshan, Lingshan County of southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, at 6:20am on Friday, Xinhua news reported.

The four kids were on their way to Gupu Elementary School when they were slashed by the middle-aged man. Three of them died at the scene, while another died at the local clinic after a failed rescue.
Initial investigation indicates that the suspect, a 56-year-old local villager, is named Shi Jianting. He was riding a tricycle with plate number ending with 037 when he attacked the four kids with a knife.
The police are hunting down the suspect.
