(ECNS) -- A 30-second video clip promoting the new image of Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs) was screened in New York's iconic Times Square during China's National Day Holiday.
Produced by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the film was displayed to the public 180 times a day.
It showcased the fastest high-Speed trains in the world, the biggest viaduct project in Southeast Asia, the world's longest ultra-high voltage grid, all developed by Chinese SOEs, to portray the new image of "made in China."
The video will be displayed separately at Heathrow Airport in London, Charles de Gaulle in Paris, Frankfurt Airport and San Francisco Airport during the course of this month.
The commission said it is a new step in boosting the image of Chinese enterprises. In future, a series of films featuring related innovation and contributions will also be released, it added.
An estimated 1.7 million people pass by the New York landmark each day, making it a prime location to promote major brands. In 2011, at this exact spot, China staged a high-profile campaign with a 60-second video to promote its national image.
A local citizen said he got a new understanding of Chinese enterprises while a tourist from South Korea said she felt surprised and inspired to see a video that promotes business at the "crossroads of the world."
