(ECNS) -- Taiwan is striving to keep pace with Hong Kong to loosen the RMB exchange curb, the Central News Agency reported on Thursday, citing Perng Fai-nan, governor of Taiwan's central bank.
Perng said negotiations with the mainland took place in the hope of calling off the 20,000 RMB per person per day limit of Renminbi currency conversions for local residents on November 17.
Hong Kong will lift the restriction on the very day, when the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect launches.
