(ECNS) -- China is ranked third best country for expats looking for a balanced, high quality lifestyle, falling just behind Switzerland and Singapore, according to HSBC's Expat Explorer Survey 2014.
The survey is one of the largest global appraisals of expatriate life. This year, 9288 emigrants from around the world shared their views on life quality, financial well-being and the ease of raising a family abroad.
China claimed third place in the quality of expat living, and took first place in the expat economy category. About 85% of expats living in China are happy with their financial well-being, and more than 50% are optimistic about the country's future.
Switzerland was the all round winner among expats, being a well-balanced country and offering a high quality lifestyle. A long-popular international hub, Singapore was the runner-up destination.
Expats in all top three countries have higher disposable incomes and also manage to have active social lives.
