Woman gets unexpected free Xbox One from Amazon

(ECNS) -- A 25-year-old woman from Yueqing, Zhejiang province, was allowed to keep a free Xbox One sent from Amazon by mistake, with delivery costs also waived.  

On November 29, the woman surnamed Zhou bought clothes via the Amazon portal while also browsing the Xbox One page, though deciding not to buy the console. However, the next morning she received a notice saying her credit card account had authorized a payment of around 3,000 yuan (about $490) for the Xbox.

Zhou, who earns a monthly salary of about US$300, complained to Amazon and was promised a partial refund if she kept the Xbox One.

Having read the story of Robert Quinn, who received 51 free gifts from the company because of 'computer glitches', Zhou contacted Amazon again to ask for a full refund. 

She described herself as "a slave to her credit card who loves, but couldn't afford the Xbox One" in her email to the company.

Amazon eventually agreed to give her the Xbox One for free and refunded the entire cost, including the delivery charge.
