(ECNS) - Minors under 10 years old will be banned from endorsing products or services, according to a draft amendment of China's Advertisement Law.
The amendment was submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, for a second reading during its bimonthly session, which runs from Monday to Sunday.
Violators of the new rules face revocation of advertising licenses, confiscation of expenses and fines of 200,000 yuan ($32,000) to 1,000,000 yuan ($160,000).
This stipulation aims to protect the physical and mental development of minors, the Beijing News reported.
