(ECNS) -- Li Hejun, chairman of clean energy power generation company Hanergy Holding Group Ltd., has become China's richest person with a fortune of 160 billion yuan ($25.57 billion), according to this year's Hurun Global Rich List.
The clean energy tycoon is the 12th person to top the list in China during the last 16 years.
The list, released by Hurun Research Institute on Tuesday, contains 2,089 billionaires from 68 countries, 222 people more than in 2014, with a total wealth of 41 trillion yuan, 1.5 percent less than last year.
Wang Jianlin, the chairman of Dalian Wanda Group, ranks second with a wealth of 155 billion yuan. Dalian Wanda Group mainly operates in four industries - commercial property, luxury hotels, culture and tourism, as well as department stores.
Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group, lies at number three in China with 150 billion yuan.
Over 10 percent, or 279 of those on the rich list, are female, with 35 of them being Chinese.
