(ECNS) - The necessary proceedings to claim compensation for victims of Flight MH370 has officially started, according to a notification released by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission.
The commission ordered that insurance companies should prioritize and simplify the insurance claim process for all personal accident compensation claimants, and that the claims would be paid quickly, the Beijing Times reported on Thursday.
An official in charge of the commission said that each insurance company should ensure that news reports will focus on the facts of the insurance claim process and any form of sensationalist reporting for commercial purposes should be prohibited.
Flight MH370, carrying 239 people, disappeared from radar screens while flying over the sea on March 8 after taking off from KL International Airport at 12:41am.
Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, the director-general of the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia, declared on January 29 that the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 was an accident and that all passengers and crew members onboard were dead.
