(ECNS) -- China's former premier Zhu Rongji has again made the Top 100 Chinese Philanthropists list, released by the China Philanthropy Research Institute for 2014.
Zhu made a total donation of 40 million yuan ($6.39 million) in 2013 and 2014, with funds mainly drawn from royalties earned via his book, published in September 2009.
He promised to use the money to improve learning among children and living conditions in poverty-stricken areas.
Last year marked a new high for the charitable cause with 24 donors giving away more than 100 million yuan, 6 times the figure of 2013.
