(ECNS) -- Nanjing, capital of East China's Jiangsu province, has become the fourth city to register its wintersweet (chimonanthus) flower with the international cultivar registration authority (ICRA) after Shanghai, Wuhan and Chengdu.
Four species of wintersweet in Nanjing's Dr. Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum have been catalogued under the ICRA system and have gained an internationally recognized ID.
The ICRA is responsible for ensuring that the names of plant cultivars and cultivar groups are defined and not duplicated.
All of its designations are monitored by the International Society for Horticultural Science.
Each name designation must be formally established by being published in hard copy, with a description in a dated publication.
