(ECNS) -- An A321 airbus travelling from Nanning, southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region to Beijing was forced to land at a Chongqing airport after a female passenger claimed she was carrying explosives, Beijing Times reported on Thursday.
After the CA1336 flight set off at 12:24 a.m. yesterday, a woman surnamed Wang said that she wanted to commit suicide after a failed relationship.
Staff with Air China immediately reported to the police and landed the plane at Chongqing Airport around 2 p.m. No suspicious items were found after an anti-explosion check.
Police arrested the 24-year-old for fabricating and spreading false terrorism information.
The case is still under investigation.
After a security inspection, the CA1336 flight took off again at 4.52 p.m. and landed at Beijing's Capital International Airport at 7.06 p.m.
