A group collection of works by artists including the WAZA Team, Hexie Baroque, Jiang Zhi and Zheng Yunhan has been unveiled at the "Developing Phantom" exhibition at 798 Art Zone's Pin Gallery.
The WAZA Team, which hails from Wuhan in central China's Hubei Province, has put together a colorful collection of multimedia works including a video projected in a separated room and an installation project in a collaboration with Social Youth Plan.
The project revives memories about cities and people through various photographs taken in different parts of the country.
"It helps us to recall the past image and shape, the connection with reality," said the curator Dang Dan.
A video by artist Jiang Zhi titled "Let There Be Light" shows children's and adults' reactions to being exposed to sudden bursts of light after standing in total darkness.
"A ray of light can drag people into reality. At first, they can't stand it however gradually they give up their resistance," said Jiang.
"They [the artists] develop their own way to observe the world that we live in by thinking about their lives separately. We hope people can source inspiration from the exhibition," said Dang.
