An exhibition of rare jade artifacts has opened in Beijing. A collection of 300 pieces from all over China are on display, some dating back thousands of years.
The pieces that have made it to Prince Gong's palace have been hand-picked from 7000 Jade artifacts. Many of the pieces were originally used in the religious rituals of ancient ethnic tribes or used as part of Buddhist religious ceremonies.
Jade dating back to the Qing dynasty can also be seen. The exhibition shows how the techniques used to fashion jade have developed over the course of history. The event will run until October 20th.
