Although my stomach was already full, my tongue wanted more. Dazzled by a wide selection of incredible Indian dishes, I had no choice but to pick the most extravagant ones.
As I sat back and listened to the beautiful traditional music, I felt like I was in India, eating authentic food and enjoying its famous musical films.
"I can tell you with certainty that this is the most authentic Indian restaurant in China," said MH Pastakia of Taj Pavilion in the China Overseas Plaza, which has been open for 14 years. "We are now holding a west Indian gourmet festival, with a special focus on Mumbai's cuisine."
Unlike other Indian restaurants in China that make adjustments to recipes to please local people's tastes, Taj Pavilion is devoted to providing only authentic Indian food.
"There are different food specialties in different parts of India, just like China," said Pastakia. "We want to bring all the best food to people outside India."
Every other month, the restaurant's menu is completely revamped, highlighting a different region's cuisine.
Next month, a tandoori festival will be held at Taj Pavilion's three Beijing locations, promoting mouth-watering barbecue dishes.
Vying for the honor of being called Beijing's best authentic Indian restaurant, Taj Pavilion is inviting people to its three locations to enjoy a memorable feast that celebrates the breadth of Indian cuisine.
