Chinese acrobats win 'Golden Clown' award

Chinese acrobats have won the Golden Clown award at the 37th Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival in Monaco.

Chinese acrobats have won the Golden Clown award at the 37th Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival in Monaco.

Two groups from the China National Acrobatic Troupe shared the top award with a duo from Ukraine. The festival opened on Thursday, with more than 150 artists from 20 countries and regions taking part. Created in 1974 by Prince Rainier the Third of Monaco, the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo has become the largest and most prestigious circus event in the world. Chinese acrobats have won 13 Golden Clown Awards since 1981.
