As the Cantonese saying goes, "No flower fair, no Spring Festival." We take you now to Foshan city, in Guangdong province, where the biggest flower fair in China is unfolding.
Opened since the end of January, the flower fair is now in full swing. There are hundreds of different flowers on sale this year, attracting shoppers like bees.
For the locals, the flowers signify the blossoming of the New Year. Most sought-after are tangerine flowers, which symbolize good luck and wealth, and chrysanthemums, which symbolize longevity.
2013 marks the 29th anniversary of the event. It runs until February 8th.
