Dutch artist Florentijin Hofman has just signed an agreement with Beijing Design Week that will see his now iconic rubber duck installation head to the capital this September.
But this time, the size of the duck may only be 10 meters high, shorter than his cousin that swam in to Hong Kong two months ago. The exhibition site is still under discussion, but it may be at the heart of Beijing so that duck admirers can have easy access.
Hofman created his first duck in 2007. Since then, several of his ducks in various sizes have visited 13 cities around the world. The duck's stay in Hong Kong caught the imagination of locals and visitors alike, with around 8-million people flocking to Victoria Harbor to catch a glimpse of the avian artwork during its stay.
