'Black light drama' is the most special and famous one in the Czech drama activities, characterized by doing the speical treatment to lighting and color, creating a magical effect, thus called it a 'phantom drama'. Black light drama is partly out of imagination, partly out of magic, the effect is very strange, is a new kind of 'stage language'. Black light drama uses light and fluorescent color to build magical effect on the stage, combined with multimedia processing, to create images like dreams. In addition to the use of visual effects, the actor's pantomime performance is also very important, because there is no language, the actors have to use body language to interpret the plot. In the drama, persons would fly, chess will dance, giant puppet can roll on the audience's heads, and whale swallows the whole symphony into abdomen.

Founder and artistic director of the Black Theatre of Prague, Srnec was born in 1931 in Zalov, near Prague. Writer, director, composer and artist, but mainly poet, Srnec has been recognised worldwide as one of the representatives of the Czech theatre school that creates transparent images of beauty that transport audiences to the world of poetry, of dreams and of miracles of childhood.
