Beijing Dance Festival features modern pieces

Modern dance's freedom of expression and often abstract themes set it apart from other dance genres. And this year's Beijing Dance Festival has showcased exactly that kind of diversity.

With a focus on training, international exchange and free expression, the Beijing Dance Festival starts with a week-long international dance camp following five days of performances. "All River Red", is a signature piece that depicts the direct confrontation of the old and the new.

The festival is co-organized by BeijingDance/LDTX, the Guangdong Modern Dance Company, and Hong Kong's City Contemporary Dance Company. It runs until July 26th at the People's Liberation Army Theater.
