Universe-17 Musical Carnival 2014
For animation, comic and game (ACG) fans, the Universe-17 Musical Carnival might be a good choice to enjoy their National Day holiday. From October 1-3 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, stars involved in ACG works from China and Japan, cosplayers, voice actors and popular online singers will present a great feast focused on Chinese and Japanese ACG culture.
Some of the key singers at Animelo Summer Live (the biggest anime concert in Japan) have also been invited to the carnival, including Yoko Takahashi, Ali Project and Mami Kawada. With their music appearing in anime such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and Shakugan no Shana, these performers are highly popular among Chinese anime fans.
Chinese stars including Alan, Ma Tianyu and Hu Yanbin are also scheduled to perform at the carnival. Chinese animated series such as A Hundred Thousand Bad Jokes and The Legend of Qin will hold interactive events during the carnival.
The carnival also offers acts as the public debut of some popular online voice actors such as Achun and Zuobian Xiangbei. Meanwhile, traditional Chinese musicians involved in music production for Chinese games, such as EDIQ and i2star, will also perform for fans.

For fans of musicals, a concert gathering famous songs from a number of classic musicals will be held from September 30 to October 4 in Shanghai. Music from The Lion King, Mamma Mia, Evita, Sister Act, Singing in the Rain, Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserirables and more are all going to be presented at the concert. No need to fly to Broadway, a trip to Shanghai is all you need.
