Located on the east coast of the island, Tanmen town, under the administration of Qionghai city, is one of the most famous fishing villages in Hainan province and boasts a history of fishing over a thousand years. When President Xi Jinping visited the province in 2013, he paid a special visit to Tanmen, and chatted with local fishermen.
