Bus crash kills 8, injures 19 in SW China
Eight people were killed and 19 others were injured after a tourist bus overturned and plunged into a valley in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Sunday, local authorities said.
Twenty-seven people were aboard the bus when it plummeted into a valley on Mengjing Road in the Dai Autonomous Prefecture of Xishuangbanna at 12:40 p.m., sources with the prefecture's press office said.
Eight people were confirmed dead at the scene of the accident.
The injured have been hospitalized. Their condition is not yet known.
An initial investigation indicated that the vehicle overturned due to a lack of traction caused by heavy rain, the sources said.

据在事故现场的救援人员介绍,发生事故时,车上共有司乘人员２７名.经初步分析事故原因系雨大路滑导致车辆侧翻并坠入公路一侧４０余米深的山谷.现场已确认８人死亡,受伤１９人已紧急送往医院.
