Chinese tourists fail to collect refunds

Chinese tourists' buying power abroad has made retailers laugh all the way to the bank. However, consciously or unconsciously, many Chinese tourists are forgetting one thing: tax refunds.

The policy incentive to encourage visitor consumption, is adopted in more than 50 countries and regions, including the EU, Japan, and Thailand. Industry data shows Chinese travellers fail to collect as much as a third of their tax refunds.
