Naval aviation JH-7 warplanes extend operational radius

Recently, the reporters witnessed the splendid training on precision strike of non-guided weapons conducted by an aviation regiment of the South China Sea Fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).

In recent years, having the demands of the future actual combat in mind, the aviation regiment has enhanced its combat effectiveness, conducted confrontation training in complicated electromagnetic environment and extended its operational radius from hundreds to thousands of kilometers.

The aviation regiment increased the difficulty and intensity of the actual combat training subject of nighttime very-low-altitude (VLA) shadow flight, lowering the flight altitude of VLA penetration to 50 meters from 100 meters and extending the penetration time to 26 minutes from 30 seconds.

In addition, the aviation regiment also established joint training and exercise system with troop units of multiple services and arms like the surface ship units, the ground anti-aircraft units and the airborne early warning units to make the training more like an actual combat.
