"The informationized military psychometric instrument can provide 'self-service' human-machine dialogue for officers and men in psychological test and evaluation, with no need of supervision or hint from psychologist, realizing 'one-stop' service of psychological diagnosis, adjustment and treatment," said Song Xin'guo, director of the hospital of a command post under the air force of the Lanzhou Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) who participated in the development of the system, at the distribution ceremony of the first batch of informationized military psychometric instruments of the PLA on the morning of March 29, 2012.
It is learned that the psychometric instruments will be commissioned in a batch of grassroots units of the PLA Air Force.
The command post under the air force of the Lanzhou MAC of the PLA has developed four models of informationized military psychometric instruments in two types through concentrated efforts since the year 2006.
The reporters saw on the site that Guo Chang, a pilot of an aviation regiment, typed his personal information including his number into a psychometric instrument and the instrument entered the question-answer system automatically. After all the questions were answered, the system presented scientific evaluation for his mental health and suggestions for psychological adjustment and training.
According to a briefing, based on psychological needs of grassroots officers and men, the psychometric instrument has amended various sets of psychological test and evaluation modes including personality and mental health and created a psychological service system.
