Defense Minister Liang Guanglie hailed the deepening of military relations between China and Kazakhstan while meeting visiting Kazakhstan's Minister of Defense Adilbek Dzhaksybekov on Monday.
Liang called on the two nations to make joint efforts to safeguard the fundamental interests of the people of both nations and maintain peace and stability in the region and the world at large.
Bilateral military ties have maintained healthy and stable development in recent years, Liang said.
He expressed China's willingness to work with Kazakhstan to strengthen cooperation and exchanges between the militaries of both nations by enhancing military mutual trust and improving existing forms of cooperation.
Dzhaksybekov, who is in China to attend a meeting of military chiefs organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, spoke highly of Kazakhstan's military ties with China.
He said Kazakhstan is willing to boost pragmatic cooperation with China in order to push forward the development of bilateral military ties.
