New military committee established in Beijing

It is learned from the working conference of the China Packaging Federation (CPF) and the Leading Group of the Asian Packaging Center (APC) Construction under the World Packaging Organization (WPO), which was held on May 27, 2012, that the "Military-civilian Integrated Packing Development and Construction Committee of the Construction Leading Group of the APC under the WPO" jointly founded by the General Logistics Department (GLD) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the CPF was announced to be formally established.

This marks that the PLA military product packaging construction has entered a totally new field of military-civilian integrated scientific development.

Liu Yuan, political commissar of the GLD of the PLA, attended the working conference of the leading group, and said that military packaging is a special protective means to meet the military needs for military equipment and combat materials.

The establishment of the Military-civilian Integrated Packaging Development and Construction Committee will help improve the rapid response system of military packaging services and support which fits wartime features.

It is also conducive to the construction of a technical standard system which integrates peacetime application and wartime application, serves both military and civilian purpose, and meets energy conservation and environmental protection demands, as well as the construction of a military packaging quality supervision system.
