The "Edge 2012" anti-terrorism joint training for special operation forces of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces held its opening ceremony at a training base in the Jinan Military Area Command (MAC) of the PLA on the morning of July 3, 2012.

The subject of the joint training is "anti-terrorism joint training for special operation forces". This is the first time for the special operation forces of the two countries to launch joint training in China after the "Edge 2011" joint training last year. The equipment display, training of mixed forces, case study and comprehensive drills will be held during the joint training.

Ma Qiuxing, head of Chinese delegation and deputy chief of staff of the Jinan MAC, and Wisnu Bawatenaya, commander of Indonesian Army Special Force, attended the opening ceremony. The heads of delegations from both sides reviewed Chinese guard of honor and the participating detachments from the two countries.
