The General Political Department (GPD) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) recently issued an order to commend 107 instructors of the PLA and the Chinese Armed Police Force (APF) who won gold medals in the 2012 "Military Academy Talent Education Award of the Chinese People's Liberation Army."  Each winner was awarded a certificate, a medal and 30,000 yuan prize money.

The winners come from various colleges and academies of the PLA and the APF with the oldest aged 61 and the youngest aged 38. 73 of them hold doctoral or master's degrees. They all love their careers in national defense education and have made remarkable achievements in talent training, teaching and research, and discipline construction.

"The Military Academy Talent Education Award of the Chinese People's Liberation Army" was established in 2001 with gold medals and silver medals. Candidates are selected on a yearly basis and are recognized and awarded by the PLA general headquarters/departments and major organizations. So far, there have been 1,256 gold-winners and 10,000-plus silver-winners across the PLA.
