Joint press release of the 7th TCM meeting
From 18 to 19 September 2012, the 7th Technical Committee Meeting on Maritime Cooperation (TMC) between China and Indonesia was held in Beijing, China. The meeting made positive remarks on maritime cooperation between Indonesia and China in various fields, among others safety of navigation, maritime security, Navy to Navy exchange, marine science and environmental protection as well as fisheries.
The meeting was held afer the signing of the MoU on Maritime Cooperation in March 2012 which established the China-Indonesia Maritime Cooperation Committee (MCC) and the China-Indonesia Maritime Cooperation Fund (MCF) in order to promote a closer maritime cooperation with greater achievements between the two countries.
The 7th TCM Meeting was able to agree on a number of maritime cooperation and projects as part of the common efforts to enrich the Strategic Partnership between China and Indonesia. The agreed projects would be implemented under the MCC framework and funded by the MCF.
The meeting has exchanged views on the preparation of the first MCC meeting, scheduled to take place in 2012.
