Two marine surveillance ships continued patrol and law enforcement activities around the Diaoyu Islands on Monday, the State Oceanic Administration (SOA) confirmed.
The Haijian 46 and Haijian 66 are carrying out the activities in accordance with relevant laws of the People's Republic of China, according to a statement from the SOA.
Japan recently provoked a dispute regarding the islands by severely infringing on China's territorial sovereignty, according to the SOA.
China has exercised its administrative jurisdiction over the islands and its surrounding waters by conducting the patrol, it said.
