Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China, attended the working conference on depot reserve as well as check and assessment of logistics support capability of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) on September 21, 2012.
During the meeting, he stressed that it is imperative to accelerate the comprehensive development of modern logistics and steadily advance the logistics preparations for military struggle, so as to lay a solid foundation for winning future local wars under information-based conditions.
Liao Xilong, member of the CMC and director of the General Logistics Department (GLD) of the PLA, also attended the conference.
Guo Boxiong pointed out that as a strategic task, the logistical preparations for military struggle occupy an important place and play an irreplaceable important role in the overall situation of the military struggle preparations.
During the conference, Guo Boxiong also went to an air material depot of the Beijing Military Area Command (MAC) of the PLA and observed the demonstration and exhibition of the achievements of information construction and standardized management of the rear depot.
