Xu Caihou tours troop units in Dalian and Qingdao

Vice Chairman Xu Caihou of the Central Military Commission (CMC), who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), is making an inspection tour in the troop units of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) stationed in Dalian and Qingdao.

Xu is accompanied by Wu Shengli, member of the CMC and commander of the PLA Navy.

Xu Caihou went to the Dalian Naval Academy and the North China Sea Fleet under the PLA Navy as well as the PLA Qingdao Garrison, where he learnt about the construction of the troop units, visited and extended his regards to the officers and men.

In a speedboat flotilla, Xu Caihou toured the cultural training center, sailors' dormitories, e-learning room, psychological counseling room and library, where he talked with the officers and men about their training, learning and living. In a maritime salvage flotilla, Xu boarded a deep submergence lifeboat to learn about the equipment performance and training of the officers and men. He encouraged the sailors to master first-rate skills.

Du Jincai, deputy director of the General Political Department (GPD) of the PLA, Liu Xiaojiang, political commissar of the PLA Navy, Zhang Youxia and Chu Yimin, respectively commander and political commissar of the Shenyang Military Area Command (MAC) of the PLA, Fan Changlong and Du Hengyan, respectively commander and political commissar of the Jinan MAC of the PLA, and leaders of the CMC General Office joined the inspection tour on different occasions.
